Looking for events in Banbury this week? There’s a mix of live music, comedy, and sports viewings across town. Go to the O2 Institute in Birmingham for a fanzone event on 21st May, just outside the city, a short drive from Banbury. The Comedy Store Players are performing at Chipping Norton Theatre on 23rd May, also a short drive away. Both are not in Banbury’s centre. For local evenings, check the town’s pubs, some host live music, but availability depends on the week. The closure of the JDE coffee factory in 2026 has had a lasting effect, but Banbury’s market-town identity remains strong. If you're driving, watch for congestion on Hennef Way, especially during peak times. Rail access via Great Western Railway and Chiltern Railways makes it easy to come in from nearby areas. You can find events on the town’s high street, but many have shifted to out-of-town spaces. Planning ahead is still the best move.
